Opinion: Should Pins Be Sold Online In Bulk?

Should people be allowed to sell pins online, like on E-bay, in a bulk pack for a small price? I do not believe they should. First, the pins may be fake. A person can easily make pins and sell them for triple the cost to gain a profit. Also, trading fake pins is not allowed at Disney, which would be hard if a family comes with a pouch full of fake pins. Also, Disney is not involved in the sale. A person could claim that Disney ripped them off with this, but Disney had no part of it. Many sellers do this to try and convince a family that is practical, as opposed to just buying from Disney. This practice is very unethical. Disney is aware of this, but there is not much that they can do. Technically, the sellers are not doing anything wrong by selling them. It is hard to tell through pictures if the pins are fake. It is just the ethics of how right it is to do this.

How To: Spotting Fake Pins

When you trade pins, you always want to make sure they are real. Most people do not realize that fake pins are very common when pin trading. Many fake pins come from packs that are bought in bulk off of E-bay or come from outside companies. Cast members can only trade Disney pins. Cast members are given real pins that can be traded with any guests. If they find that they have a fake pin, they must turn it in for a real one. Here is how you can spot if a pin is a fake:

The Real Magic of a MagicBand

One of my favorite things Disney invented was the MagicBand. If you don’t know what a MagicBand is, it is an all in one wristband that makes your vacation very convenient. The band is your room key, park ticket, photopass card, fastpass, dining reservation and even your charge card if you are staying in a Disney resort hotel. The MagicBand is something I love to wear, and even accessorize my outfit with when at the parks.

These bands are waterproof, and can be adjusted for adult and kid sizes. Coming in a variety of colors, they are free if you stay in the resort, as they are your room key. But, you can buy ones with different designs. Most of them are open edition, but there a few special edition that you can get at certain parks or during different events! And, at Disney Springs and Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, you can make a custom one! Here are a few I’ve loved:

Blog Update: Thank Yous & We’re Going To Disney World?!

It’s been ten weeks since this blog started, and I cannot believe how fast it went! I want to thank everyone who read this blog and took time to share it. I really appreciated it! This was my semester project, and I loved doing it. Each post was something that I knew most people would enjoy. And, with the semester just about over, I have decided to keep this blog going! It may not be as weekly, but I will still post once new merch is available.

And, with the blog continuing, I have a big announcement to make.

Drum roll, please…

WE’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!

If you have read the “about me” page, you will know I did two college programs in merchandise. A special summer alumni program was available this year, and I happened to be accepted for it for merchandise again! So Magical Merchandise with Meghan is going to be at the resort this summer! Be sure to follow the Instagram page here, as I will be posting quite frequently!

Will you be heading to the resort this summer? I’d love to meet with people who read the blog! It’s always great when I hear feedback and meet new friends that share this common interest!

Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank  you! And see you all at Walt Disney World real soon!!

A Handy Disney Handbag

I cannot tell you how much of an accessory person I am. Clothes and accessories are what make or break my park visits. I have to be looking cute and representing what I can while I’m out and about. And, to me, purses and handbags are my main staple. They have to serve a purpose as a statement to an outfit and also be functional. There are a few brands and bags I love, and I will share them with you: Continue reading “A Handy Disney Handbag”
