Hungry for the 22nd Annual Epcot Food & Wine Festival Merchandise

I don’t know about you, but Epcot’s Food and Wine festival is feeling 22!

The 22nd annual Epcot Food and Wine festival is upon us and it could not come at a better time! With Epcot’s 35th anniversary just a month away, the festival is showcasing Epcot’s rich and diverse history.  The festival is also at a record breaking 75 days this year. The first day of the festival, August 31st, is the earliest the festival has ever started. Along the 11 country world showcase and future world will be over 35 marketplace kiosks serving foods from around the world as well as foods that spark innovation. And with a new festival, comes new merchandise. This year’s includes more Figment and Remy (Ratatouille) related items, as well as Brews Around the World and Taste Epcot. I got a sneak peek at some of the merchandise in late July. Let’s take a look:

As you can see, Figment, Epcot’s official mascot, is proudly represented this year. You can proudly show Figment from head to toe with ears, a chef’s hat, apron, and pot holder. Other items include a cute Remy festival tee shirt, Remy mug, and logo merchandise. The limited release pin captures the spirit of the festival.

Brews Around the World is back and is represented with specialty merchandise. Located in the Odyssey building, different craft beers and drafts are showcased. There is a “concert” style tee shirt this year, and I am loving it. Popularizing the ‘Eat To the Beat’ concert series, the “dates” on the shirt are all 11 countries from the World Showcase. It is definitely a must have for any fans!

More generic festival merchandise is available this year, with the color combinations of navy, white and orange. You can find a mug, hate, salt and pepper shakers, shirts, and even wine glasses that show the logo of the festival. My favorite thing that was featured at the preview was the Food and Wine hoodie. The Epcot festivals usually do not sell long sleeved items, so I was pretty happy to see this one featured. Besides the logo on the front, the back includes “taste around the world” and pavilion logos. The arm also features the countries going down the sleeve with the tagline “taste around the world” again.

It would not be a festival without passholder merchandise! This years includes magnets, a tote bag, salt and pepper shakers, a special post card, limited edition pins and even their own Dooney and Bourke bag!

Speaking of Dooney and Bourke, the festival also has two other designs in three different bag forms. The patterns all include Epcot, Figment, and the Food and Wine logo. Figment is prominent on the largest tote bag that is available to purchase, with Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase outline behind him.

Lastly, Remy’s Hide and Squeak will be available again this year! Once you pick up your map, head on in to the World Showcase to find Remy hidden in the countries. Once you spot him, put a sticker over the spot on the map. Once completed, turn into a cast member at Disney Traders or Port of Entry to receive your prize!

You can find this and more at Epcot. All festival merchandise is being sold at the Festival Center (formerly Wonders of Life pavilion). You can also find items at MouseGear, kiosks in the World Showcase, and Gateway Gifts in Future World. For all pins, check out Pin Central in Future World. Some items are also currently available on the Shop Disney Parks app, the free app for your phone that allows you to buy merchandise directly from the theme park and have it shipped to your door.

Will you be going to Food and Wine this year? Do you have a favorite food item or drink? Let me know in the comments!

The Real Magic of a MagicBand

One of my favorite things Disney invented was the MagicBand. If you don’t know what a MagicBand is, it is an all in one wristband that makes your vacation very convenient. The band is your room key, park ticket, photopass card, fastpass, dining reservation and even your charge card if you are staying in a Disney resort hotel. The MagicBand is something I love to wear, and even accessorize my outfit with when at the parks.

These bands are waterproof, and can be adjusted for adult and kid sizes. Coming in a variety of colors, they are free if you stay in the resort, as they are your room key. But, you can buy ones with different designs. Most of them are open edition, but there a few special edition that you can get at certain parks or during different events! And, at Disney Springs and Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, you can make a custom one! Here are a few I’ve loved:

This first one is the Frozen Ever After Anna band. It debuted July 2016, right after the ride opened (pictured below). This is my favorite as it’s pink, shows Anna’s spring dress, and is a hand drawn animation of Princess Anna. You can also find Elsa and Olaf ones!

This second one is a custom made Minnie band. This Minnie design can be found on a pink band for purchase, but I got it customized onto a purple band to have Minnie’s dress stand out. I love the purple color against the pink dress!

Next comes MagicBand 2.0. These new bands debuted at the D23 expo in November of 2016, and everyone went crazy for them! They are lighter and more flexible than the original band, and they come designed so that the touch point (Mickey) can come out from the band and be used separately. There are key chains available to purchase, so that the touch point can still go with you and is usable conveniently.

New MagicBand 2.o bands are starting to debut more frequently than had been earlier this year. There is the limited edition Flower and Garden band that features Figment on one side and Mickey on the other. This band is retailed at $32.9 and can be purchased at Epcot (while supplies last).

This last band is my favorite of all the 2.o MagicBands. This live action Beauty and the Beast band features Belle on the one side and the movie logo on the other. I have purchased it, and love it! It’s still in the box for me to use this summer.

Have you used a MagicBand before? Do you like them? Do you have a favorite one that you’ve purchased? Let me know!

Traveling to Pandora for ‘Avatar’ Merchandise

With there being exactly one month until Guests of Disney’s Animal Kingdom getting to travel to Pandora, the world of Avatar, it is only fitting that there is a sneak peek of new merchandise! These photos were just released, and the merchandise looks absolutely stunning. Guests will be able to find all of these items and more at Windtraders, the primary merchandise store in Pandora, starting May 27th.

First, there is bioluminescent pieces created by Casey Jones, the Senior Character Artist with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group. The pieces are meant to reflect how Pandora looks at night. From the picture, we have a puzzle, mug, tote bag, lanyard, wristlet and tee shirt available in the bioluminescent prints.

This next set of pieces were designed by Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde and are inspired by the Avatar Flight of Passage attraction. The attraction will feature Guests being able to ride on the back of a banshee, and Rohde has made his pieces on the banshee and how it flies. Dylan Cole, co-production designer for the new Avatar sequels, designed the prints on the left of the photo. He wanted to capture what it was like to experience Pandora at night. From the picture, there are prints of the design, a pillow, a mug, and a photo frame with the design on them.

Jones also designed pieces based on the Shaman of Songs from the Na’vi River Journey attraction. This attraction will be a boat ride through the valleys of Pandora, and the Shaman will see you at the end of your journey. The next design was done by Daphne Yap, a member of the Avatar film team, and features Na’vi weavings and Banshee totems done on digital rendering with a hand-drawn feel. These designs will be available on select apparel and accessories.

Our last look is at some Pandora exploration gear. We have patches, bags, tee shirts, hats, a mug, and an Intergalactic Passport Kit from Alpha Centauri Expeditions. Along with this kit, a Na’vi translator will be available for purchase. This translator will also offer expansion packs available for purchase so Guests can learn the language.

With all this as a preview, one can only imagine what else is available in the world of Avatar. I’m sure we will find out once Pandora opens!

Are you planning to explore Pandora this summer? Does this merchandise make you excited to go? Comment below!

A Handy Disney Handbag

I cannot tell you how much of an accessory person I am. Clothes and accessories are what make or break my park visits. I have to be looking cute and representing what I can while I’m out and about. And, to me, purses and handbags are my main staple. They have to serve a purpose as a statement to an outfit and also be functional. There are a few brands and bags I love, and I will share them with you: Continue reading “A Handy Disney Handbag”

The Art of Disney

Disney art is probably one of my favorite things. I just love all the paintings and prints, and how amazing they would look lining my walls at home. On my college program, I had the pleasure of working the Art of Disney store in Epcot (there are also ones in Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs). The store was small, but lined with all different canvases and collectibles. I loved every second of it, and I really miss going in there to find new artwork up each week.

With so many collectibles and artwork available, I will be solely focusing on actual artwork in this post. You will find different paintings and painters that I love. I do have an admiration for collectibles (Jim Shore figurines are my favorite!), but there are so many, I would like to do a separate post later on them. So what are we waiting for? Let’s see how great art can be: Continue reading “The Art of Disney”
